When you tell moms on mostly-American lists that you live in the capital of Canada, do they reply that it must be neat to live in Toronto? Are you sick of having to dispell the myths about Canadians that still somehow manage to remain floating around out there (we live in igloos, drive dog sleds to work, and it's *always* snowing up here, even in August!) Do you need a place where you can gripe about Mike Harris without having to explain who he is? Are you looking for a list where you can get some reassurance that your child's obsession with hockey is completely normal? Do you want to be able to tell that funny story about the time your son swallowed a loonie without dealing with moms who are frightened that he has a big enough mouth to fit a large bird in it? Are you looking for suggestions from other moms about how to get your daughter to bundle up in her ten layers of winter clothing when it's -50 degrees celcius outside... without having to explain what the "windchill factor" is first? And most importantly, are you looking for a supportive and caring group of moms who will be understanding and helpful, regardless of the topic?

If you have answered yes to one or more of these questions,
then this is the community for you!

The Young Canadian Mommies Community is for any mother under the age of 25 raising a child or children while living in Canada! Join other mommies from all over Canada to talk about anything from cold winters to our children's colds!

The Young Canadian Mommies list is a supportive forum for mothers to talk about their lives, their families... as mothers and as women. It also has the extra advantage of being 100% Canadian, so that moms on the list don't have to pause to explain certain things to moms elsewhere who aren't familiar with our culture. :)

The YMH list moderators and coordinators pride ourselves in the fact that our lists are "safe havens" for mothers online. We make sure that all members of our groups follow the Community Guidelines to ensure that our lists have ALL of the supportive and positive energies our moms want, but NONE of the negative energies from those who are not commited to helping maintain a "safe zone" for mommies...

So if you have been in search of a list where you can be yourself in a safe and positive environment, then your search is over. :)
